Dr Fei Zhao, Principal Lecturer in Audiology. He is currently working as MSc Audiology programme director, Centre for SLT (Speech Language Therapy) and Hearing Science, Cardiff Metropolitan University. Dr Zhao graduated from Tianjin Medical University (China) in 1992. He received his Ph.D. in Welsh Hearing Institute, University of Wales College of Medicine in 1998. Between 1998 and 2002, he worked as postdoctoral fellow and research associated in Japan, U.S.A and the UK.
He was appointed to a Lecturer position in Swansea University in 2002 and established the very first BSc Audiology course in Wales. Between 2007 and 2014, Dr Zhao worked in University of Bristol, as the Center Director of Hearing and Balance Studies. Dr Zhao plays the principal role in the development, implementation and management of the Audiology schemes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Over the last 10 years, Dr Zhao has established strong links with a number of institutions around the world (such as China, Japan, Australia, Middle East, Malaysia and Europe), all of which enables him for further development in research and education. Dr Zhao has been awarded several research funding and published more than 50 peer reviewed scientific papers.
