Mabel Adewale Hamrell -Sub-Regional Resource Editor(Western Africa)


Mabel is a Doctor of Audiology and is currently the Principal Therapy Consultant for Medtronic in the Northeast USA, where she provides product support, training and education for the Sophono Magnetic Bone Anchored Hearing System. She is originally from the United Kingdom and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester and her Master of Science degree in Audiology from the University of Southampton. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. 

Mabel has a fond interest in travel and learning about different cultures. She has travelled the world extensively and in between her Bachelor and Master degrees she lived and worked in Japan as an English teacher for the Japanese Exchange & Teaching program where she worked at a school for the deaf. Since completing her Master’s degree Mabel has worked as a clinical Audiologist in a variety of settings and with a variety of patient populations, both in the U.K and the USA giving her a unique insight in the way Audiology services are provided in these countries.

She is passionate about hearing health and using her skills as an Audiologist to improve the quality of life of people with hearing loss. She is a licensed Audiologist in the District of Columbia and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and she serves as a committee member for the Public Relations team.


Mabel is a keen traveler and once volunteered on a ship that circumnavigated the globe
